da marjack bet: Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson has been reacting to rumours of potential swoops for left-backs Kai Wagner and Alfonso Pedraza.
The Lowdown: Wober in
da doce: The Whites have officially made their first signing of 2023 in defender Max Wober. Primarily a centre-back who can also play as a left-back, the 24-year-old has joined in a deal worth around £10m from RB Salzburg and has signed a contract through to 2027.
Jesse Marsch has worked with Wober before, while the club have also been linked with moves for Wagner and Pedraza. Reports have said the Whites are interested in Wagner and are ready to present an offer for Pedraza.
The Latest: Robinson has his say on Wagner and Pedraza links
Talking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson, who now contributes for Sky Sports, was asked about both Wagner and Pedraza.
He said that ‘most fans and pundits in this country’ won’t know much about the pair and described possible moves as ‘risks’. Robinson also urged the club to look at players with Premier League experience.

“They’re two players who I suspect most fans and pundits in this country know little about.
“You’re looking at a rough diamond again when you’re in a position where you need players who are ready to go.
“I’d like to see players who are tried and tested at the top level and not players who you hope are hitting the ground running.
“Don’t get me wrong, they’ve had success with players like that before. Look at Raphinha.
“But rough diamonds don’t come around very often.
“For Leeds to secure Premier League safety, the importance is on signing a striker and a left-back.
“They have to get that right. Whether it’s Radrizzani or the 49ers to invest – however it’s going to work – they need strengthening.
“Wagner and Pedraza are risks because you don’t know how they’d react to the Premier League.
“Leeds need players that are statement signings, players that will almost guarantee performances every week because you know what you’re getting.”
The Verdict: Unlikely?
There was speculation that Leeds want a new left-back and a new forward alongside Wober, however, Graham Smyth has hinted that the new Leeds signing will be it when it comes to adding to their left-back options.
Therefore, you could say that a move for one of Wagner or Pedraza is unlikely at this stage, however, a lot can change between now and the end of the month, so it shouldn’t be ruled out entirely, especially if the squad is struck by any further injuries.
