da fazobetai: Michael Beale led Glasgow Rangers to an impressive 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in a friendly match on Saturday and the excellent performance from the Ibrox outfit could be a sign of things to come under the new manager.
da bet7k: A tough task awaits on Thursday evening, with Rangers taking on Hibernian as the Premiership season resumes following the break, and a victory is absolutely essential.
With January fast approaching, Beale will also have other things on his mind, especially with several first-team players out of contract in the summer.
The main focus will be to tie down Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent to new long-term deals, but the 42-year-old should also keep faith in centre-back, Filip Helander, despite his injury issues.
The £14k-per-week warrior has missed 94 matches in nearly three and a half seasons for the Light Blues due to a variety of injury problems, however when he is fit and firing, the Sweden international remains one of the club’s finest defenders.
Indeed, the forgotten centre-back enjoyed one of his most successful periods at Ibrox under Beale, when the Englishman was the first team coach under Steven Gerrard.
During the 2020/2021 campaign, Helander formed a wonderful defensive partnership with Connor Goldson as the club conceded just 13 Premiership goals – a British record – on their way to winning league title number 55.
That season, Helander averaged an impressive Sofascore rating of 7.10/10 while making 1.7 tackles, 2.2 clearances, and 0.7 interceptions per match while also winning an impressive 68% of his total duels, proving he was an absolute colossus at the heart of the Rangers defence.
If Beale can get the player back fit and ready to play a part during the second half of the season, a new contract might well be offered at the end of the campaign.
There is no doubting his ability when called upon, it’s just unfortunate he has missed so many games. With his previous success under Beale however, it makes sense for the club to keep faith in him as Helander can still be an integral part of this squad heading into the future.
