da dobrowin: Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Ilkay Gundogan’s decision to delay signing a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The German international became Pep Guardiola’s first signing as City manager back in 2016, signing from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund for a fee of around £20m.
Gundogan has scored 12 league goals for the club so far, and is currently embarking on his third season in a sky blue shirt – he also became a Premier League champion for the first time last year.
The 28-year-old current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2020, and his versatility and tactical understanding has seen him become a key member of the team – Gundogan can play at defensive midfield, central midfield and attacking midfield.
