da esoccer bet: Leeds United haven’t been too busy in the summer transfer market so far having only brought Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker in on loan, but new boss Marcelo Bielsa is likely to want to further boost his squad before the new Championship season gets underway in just over a month’s time.
da esport bet: While he has added a player of real quality in the centre of the park, the Argentine is sure to want to strengthen between the sticks following the departure of Felix Wiedwald, at the heart of the defence given a lack of options, as well as in attack where the Yorkshire outfit have yet to effectively replace Chris Wood nearly a year after he left Elland Road.
Bringing in a new striker or two will certainly be a priority given Pierre-Michel Lasogga has returned to Hamburg following a loan spell last term and Pawel Cibicki has joined Molde, and the Whites need to find that goalscorer if they are to be involved in the promotion race in the upcoming campaign.
Bielsa, who should consider making a swoop for a Tottenham star should they complete the signing of a PSG man, has already made one smart signing, and he will surely feel that if he can get a few more then the club will be well set to finally secure a Premier League return.
Here are two huge signings Leeds must make this summer, as well as one major sale…
As we mentioned above, one of Leeds’ priorities before the season kicks off next month must be to bring a goalscorer to the club, and who better than the top marksman in the Championship last term.
Vydra netted 21 times in 40 league games for Derby last season, and if reports are to be believed the Yorkshire outfit are desperate to bring him to Elland Road this summer.
There is no doubt that he would bring some much-needed quality and a goal threat to the Leeds frontline, and it is a deal they must get over the line – even for a big price.
With Felix Wiedwald leaving following a nightmare debut season with Leeds and Andy Lonergan perhaps not considered good enough to be their number one, they are left with Bailey Peacock-Farrell between the sticks.
While the 21-year-old impressed and did a decent job towards the end of the 2017/18 season, you would feel that the Whites need someone more experienced at this level if they want to be real promotion contenders this term.
There certainly won’t be many better options than Stockdale, who is surplus to requirements at Birmingham City and helped Brighton and Hove Albion secure Premier League football just over a year ago.
With Lewis Baker arriving at Elland Road and with the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Eunan O’Kane and Ronaldo Vieira already available in the middle of the park, you have to wonder whether this is the end of the road for Klich.
The Poland international arrived in a big-money deal last summer but he failed to impress Thomas Christiansen, and he was sent back to the Eredivisie with Utrecht.
Despite impressing with them, he appears to have fallen further down the pecking order at Elland Road, and it may well be the best decision for all parties to move him on.
