da dobrowin: If you took a trip to the moon over the weekend and someone missed it, Wayne Rooney became Manchester United’s all-time leading goalscorer with a stunning equaliser against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
da dobrowin: Taking his tally for the Red Devils to 250, and past Sir Bobby Charlton, Rooney has cemented himself in the history books for both club and country, having already previously passed Charlton’s record as top-scorer for England.
Rooney’s record will stand for years to come, and may never be broken, and Betway Insider have released an impressive infographic detailing the finer stats of Rooney’s tally- which reveal the clubs that have suffered in the striker’s wake the most.
Poor old Aston Villa conceded a whopping 14 goals to Rooney, more than any other side, whilst Newcastle United (13), West Ham (12) and Arsenal (12) all struggled to keep the England striker out.
Rooney’s importance is further demonstrated by the fact he scored in five major finals and netted 30 winning goals, whilst 85 were decisive and 219 were part of a winning cause.
With seven hat-tricks and a whopping 44 braces, Rooney is accustomed to putting teams to the sword and English football has certainly taken him for granted over the years.
