It is widely expected that the Spain international will leave Stamford Bridge this summer after plenty of media outlets, including BBC Sport, reported that Conte informed him that he was not wanted via text message.
Costa’s former club Atletico are interested in reuniting with the 28-year-old, according to The Guardian, but nothing has been confirmed as yet.
From the striker’s point of view, though, it seems that he has already cut ties with the Premier League champions.
He has played no part in the club’s pre-season training schedule, and judging from his live Instagram broadcast, he is ready to move on.
Also, there seems to be no love lost between himself and Conte after he replied to Cesc Fabregas’s comment on the clip by saying, “Give Conte a hug,” according to the Daily Mail.
As expected, Chelsea fans are not best pleased with their striker, with some keen to officially part ways and others to banish him to the reserves.
