da bet7k: As reported by The Daily Mail, Arsenal are willing to offers for right-back Carl Jenkinson, alerting the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace ahead of the January transfer window.
What’s the story?
da 888: The Mail reports Jenkinson is set for a move away from the Emirates in January with the Gunners open to both permanent transfers and loan deals for the England cap.
They say Sam Allardyce is an admirer and with Palace looking for solutions to their defensive woes, could move for the right-back. West Ham too could make their move, according to the paper, with Jenkinson previously spending 2 seasons on loan at the Irons.
Fully recovered?
Like most players at Arsenal, Carl Jenkinson is a footballer that could play first team football for most teams in the English Premier League.
Jenkinson enjoyed a season and a half on loan at West Ham before picking up a horror knee injury in a collision with Sergio Aguero last January. He returned to Arsenal for treatment and rehabilitation, not making his return until the end of October in the EFL Cup.
He went on to also feature in two Champions League encounters against Ludogorets and PSG, showing that his knee was ready for the rigours of first team football. Despite that, he’s made just 5 appearances for the Gunners and hasn’t featured since November.
Fully fit then, but struggling for form. A move to another London side could be good for him and West Ham feels like a good fit considering his good showings for the Hammers over the previous two seasons.
Whether that’s permanent or on loan could be up to the player but with Hector Bellerin having made the right-back position his own at the Emirates, there’s little scope for regular first team football anytime soon.
