da 888casino: According to reports in the Sheffield Star, Sheffield United are interested in bringing Neal Maupay to Bramall Lane next season.
The Frenchman has previously been linked with a £20 million move away from Griffin Park, and if the Blades are looking to bring him in for that fee, he may not be worth it.
Great season
It’s hard to point out any flaws in Maupay’s game after the season he has had.
The 22-year-old scored 25 goals and provided eight assists for teammates all while playing for a Brentford team which struggled during spells last season.
The Brentford forward is 11 years younger than the Blades current biggest striking threat, and there is no reason he can’t be the long term replacement for Billy Sharp.

Still not enough
Maupay has proven himself to be one of the best goalscorers at Championship level, but the Premier League is an entirely different ball game.
Time after time we have seen proven Championship scorers fail to bring their scoring record to the Premier League with them. Jordan Rhodes, Matej Vydra and Nahki Wells are just a few examples of prolific second tier hitmen who didn’t cut the mustard in the top flight.
Indeed, Maupay is better than the previous targets the Blades were looking at such as Macauley Bonne, Lee Gregory and Gary Madine, but he still is an unproven entity at this level.
All four of the above-listed strikers have a combined Premier League goal tally of zero, and the consequences of coming into the top flight without a proven attacker at this level can be disastrous.
Targeting the Brentford striker is a step in the right direction for the newly promoted side, but if they are to splurge £20m on a striker, they need to get in someone with a rich goal scoring history in elite tier football.
